Our National Account Director and metroSTOR co-founder, Nigel Deacon has been invited to speak at the event, where he will be addressing the rise in lithium-ion battery fires and their risks associated with the storage of mobility scooters, e-bikes and e-scooters. The session will also focus on waste management and address issues around side waste and fly-tipping.
About the conference:
The management of residential blocks has come under further scrutiny since emerging from two years of Covid-related lockdowns – with the Grenfell tragedy bringing it into sharp focus.
With some social housing providers becoming less visible and less proactive on their estates, there has been a significant rise in anti-social behaviour, fly-tipping and a range of issues related to communal areas.
The conference will focus on the wider block and estate management, taking into account every aspect of the day-to-day resident experience and the impact on the wider community. Hearing from a variety of experts and practitioners such as: Dr Paul Christiansen, Director at Lithiumsafety Ltd and senior advisor to the National Fire Chiefs Council, speaking on the fire risks associated with Lithium-ion batteries – Carly Bothwell, Building Safety Manager for Trafford Housing Trust – and Linda Elliot, Head of Estate Services for the London Borough of Lambeth, offering guidance on the practical aspects of managing blocks and estates. From the rise in lithium-ion battery fires and how best to store personal mobility devices, to waste management, fly-tipping, lift maintenance and anti-social behaviour.
