metroSTOR is thrilled to welcome Jan Taranczuk as a strategic advisor. With an extensive career spanning over 55 years in the housing sector, Jan brings unparalleled expertise in local government, social housing and fire safety.
Jan’s career began in local government, where he dedicated 33 years to the sector, including 13 years as a Chief Officer. Transitioning to the private sector, he spent 25 years forging partnerships between public and private organisations, providing senior management support through interim leadership and consulting roles. Since founding Jan Taranczuk Associates in 2009, he has worked with housing providers and private companies to enhance resident services, with a strong focus on innovative solutions and fire safety.
A recognised authority in the field, Jan serves as Vice-Chair of the London and Southeast branch of the National Social Housing Fire Strategy Group, is a Corporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and sits on the Board of Walterton and Elgin Community Homes. He is also an Associate of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers.
In his new role at metroSTOR, Jan will provide strategic insight to support the development of safe and effective estate solutions. His expertise will be invaluable in addressing key challenges, particularly in fire safety, waste management, and the secure storage of battery-powered e-bikes and scooters; critical issues for social landlords seeking to create safer living environments.
Commenting on his appointment, Jan said:
“I’m delighted to be joining metroSTOR as a strategic advisor. I consider that metroSTOR provides proven safe storage for battery powered bikes and scooters in addition to their range of domestic waste storage units. The safe and effective collection of domestic waste and the storage of battery powered electrical equipment are conducive to safe living in apartment blocks and important in the objective to improve fire safety in housing. I look forward to working with the team in the coming months.”
metroSTOR remains committed to redefining estate management through innovative, resident-focused solutions. Jan’s deep sector knowledge and dedication to safety will further enhance metroSTOR’s ability to support social landlords in delivering secure, efficient, and future-proofed housing environments.
