Refuse chutes are on the way out. With fire safety, pest risk, poor recycling outcomes under scrutiny and the government’s Simpler Recycling reforms just around the corner, housing providers are rethinking how waste is managed in high-rise buildings.
Join metroSTOR in Dundee for a practical, in-person workshop focused on how to close refuse chutes safely and successfully. We will be joined by representatives from Dundee City Council, who will share their experience of delivering local chute closures and transforming waste services across several high-rise blocks.
The session will include a guided site visit to a recently completed project, along with practical advice on resident engagement, planning, funding and operational impact. Learn how the project team tackled key challenges and achieved buy-in from residents and stakeholders, delivering long-term benefits for building safety and estate management.
This free event is open to housing professionals, estate teams, compliance leads and building safety officers, involved in managing flatted housing. Places are limited and so early registration is advised. We look forward to seeing you in Dundee this August!
