New Case Study: Andover Estate
Andover Estate in Holloway, North London, is the largest public housing estate in the London Borough of Islington. Declaring a Climate Emergency in 2019, Islington council set themselves ambitious household recycling targets that placed emphasis on creating a greener Borough.
A regeneration project had already been approved back in 2017, which saw Studio Partington; an award-winning, London-based architectural practice working on behalf of Islington Council, make a positive impact on the estate – with the project receiving a number of awards and accolades from various publications.
The ongoing scheme will feature bespoke variations of metroSTOR PBM Bin Storage Housings across the estate, providing comprehensive waste and recycling services for the residents, with some of the units featuring a sedum & wildflower mix green roof to reduce carbon emissions and improve biodiversity.
