PTL Storage Locker Units

As part of a pilot refurbishment project of 24 flats for Birmingham City Council, architects BM3 specified metroSTOR PBL Bin Storage Units and PTL Outdoor Storage Lockers, to help ensure external and internal communal spaces can be kept neat and tidy.

In the front gardens of the properties, PBL bin storage units provide secure housing for general waste and recycling wheelie bins. These are situated adjacent to the access path, giving easy access for residents to use the bins, and for refuse collection teams to service them. These stores ensure bins cannot be removed by unauthorised persons, reducing fire risk.

Each rear garden contains six PTL 12 storage lockers, arranged in two facing banks of three, giving each flat an external store for possessions such as buggies, childrens toys and bikes, and garden furniture. This reduces the chance of such items being stored in communal hallways and stairwells, where they represent a serious fire risk.
