Stringent Royal Parks specification met with metroSTOR design flexibility

Based in London’s famous Hyde Park, The Will to Win Foundation is a prominent charitable organisation which actively promotes year-round tennis and other sports facilities in a number of public parks throughout the capital. Founded in 2003, Will to Win’s central motto, “Tennis for all”, is at the heart of their vision to get more people of all ages and backgrounds into playing tennis and keeping fit. In partnership with the prestigious UK Lawn Tennis Association and The Royal Parks, their network of attractive and comprehensive sports facilities play a key role in reaching out to both local schools and their surrounding communities.

The Will To Win Foundation approached metroSTOR having identified a pressing need for more external equipment storage at their Hyde Park site. Bearing in mind their high-status location any new structure needed to be in keeping with the smart aesthetics of its surroundings, as well as meeting their primary requirements of safe and secure all-weather storage.

Working closely with the client, our professional design team put forward a PTH36.50 model from metroSTOR’s Outdoor Storage range and with the foundation keen to utilise eco-friendly solutions for both water drainage and insulation we were delighted to include the integral Wild® Greenroof option. In order to meet the architectural requirements of the Royal Parks, custom-finished cladding panels and eaves detailing were also specified.

With its galvanised steel framework, treated timber and Greenroof system; this is a storage solution which will provide many years of sturdy, weatherproof and maintenance free protection for valuable tennis equipment.
